Committed To Protecting Your Rights And Your Future

All legal issues are important, but never as important as when your freedom and future are at stake. At The Law Office of Jodi L. Hemingway, PLLC, attorney Jodi L. Hemingway understands this and is committed to minimizing the impact of any criminal charge.

Ms. Hemingway focuses on protecting her client’s rights while striving for acquittal or getting charges dismissed whenever possible. When the facts of a case warrant a different strategy, she may seek reduced charges or alternative sentencing.

Ms. Hemingway defends clients against a wide range of criminal charges, including serious felonies such as homicide, sex crimes and drunk driving involving an injury or repeat drunk driving charges, which can result in lengthy prison sentences. Her extensive experience working within the Michigan criminal justice system provides her valuable insight on how prosecutors approach their cases, what flexibility they have to negotiate a reduced charge or sentence, and how to minimize the impact of a criminal charge.

A Tough Lawyer For Tough Challenges

Ms. Hemingway graduated magna cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law in 2008 and quickly focused her practice on providing tenacious representation in high-profile criminal matters, as well as contested divorce and custody actions. She represents parents in child protective cases, juveniles accused of crimes in the family court, and she helps litigants restore their driving privileges after they have been revoked. She has an active appellate practice as well.

During law school, she clerked for the Honorable Joseph J. Farah in the Genesee County Circuit Court, immersing herself in the pursuit of learning everything she could about criminal jury trial practice. Upon being admitted to the Bar in 2009, she quickly developed a reputation as an advocate who is not hesitant to go to trial.

Ms. Hemingway is committed to social justice issues. Her path to the practice of law was a deeply personal journey. She treats clients with empathy and respect and approaches each case as if it’s her only one. Her emphasis on clear and continuous communication means every client is kept up to date about the status of their case, the following steps and the full range of options available to them.
